WSP has led the construction management team at Chicago O’Hare International Airport for nearly 20 years on over 75 projects including five new runways, all completed ahead of schedule and under budget thanks to excellent communication and coordination. WSP developed the Safety Management System and worked with the CDA and a panel of stakeholders to identify risks and mitigations and update the airport’s safety programs and protocols to meet FAA requirements. WSP has been recognized for the program with the ACEC Honor Award, Construction Management Association of America Project of the Year Award, and Hispanic American Construction Industry Association Project of the Year Award.

We have designed access roads and “gateway” structures that create a first impression of the airport, as well as terminal expansion programs, runway and taxiway rehabilitations, and new airport development projects.

WSP is providing design and analysis with impacts on roadways and bridge structures for the Central Terminal Area Redevelopment Program at JFK. WSP used detailed vehicle data to create VISSIM microscopic vehicle and pedestrian traffic simulations and created simulations for construction conditions to test MPT plans and provided frontage level of service analysis per Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) report guidelines. Our team performed traditional level of service analysis at critical merge and diverge points on the ingress/egress highways.
