ST. LOUIS — Airport Business magazine has announced its “Top 40 Under 40” list, which includes Stephanie Atallah, PhD, lead aviation consultant for Advisory and Planning at WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services firm.
Since joining WSP’s St. Louis office in 2020, Atallah has directly supervised several project delivery teams, viewing airports as smart cities and critical assets of our nation’s infrastructure. Her successful support of airports as they overcome complex planning challenges was a key reason for her recognition.
“Stephanie has excelled at her position since joining WSP,” said Jannet Walker-Ford, business line executive for Advisory and Planning at WSP. “She has taken leadership reins in key project and business development activities, expanding WSP’s aviation footprint across the Midwest. Her recognition by Airport Business is a testament to the impact she has been able to make in less than five years.”
Atallah led and advised grant application efforts for five major airport clients, aiding them in receiving more than $16 million in grant dollars and served as one of the primary finance leads in negotiating with airlines for an amendment to a use and lease agreement that generated $960 million in funding for a major expansion project.
She currently serves as chair of the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Young Members Council for Aviation. She is a member of TRB's standing committee on Aviation Economics and Forecasting and the standing committee on Aviation Administration and Policy. She is a member of the Airport Consultants Council, having previously served as planning and environmental committee chair.
“I was inspired to pursue a career in aviation early on as I saw an opportunity to perform impactful work on the aviation system, as well as the larger community that each airport serves,” Atallah said. “I find daily motivation in helping airports and aviation clients find solutions to larger problems they face, whether planning, engineering or funding.”
Atallah is a graduate of Lebanese American University with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and Virginia Tech with a master’s degree in air transportation systems and a doctorate in civil engineering.
Gaël Le Bris, CM, ENV SP, PE, vice president of aviation planning at WSP, was named to the Top 40 Under 40 list in 2018.
Airport Business publishes its annual “Top 40 Under 40” list to recognize the accomplishments of rising stars and future leaders in the aviation business sector. With the aviation industry constantly evolving, it is vital to recognize up and coming professionals that are making a significant impact in the airport industry through demonstration of their exceptional leadership skills, innovative thinking, contributions to industry growth and success leading notable projects.
