HOUSTON — WSP, a leading engineering, environment and professional services firm, is moving closer to its clients and enhancing workplace culture, closer in-office teamwork and community outreach opportunities with a new Houston office lease that reaffirms the company’s commitment to the city’s ongoing development.
WSP leased 21,623 square feet of office space at Village Towers. Owned by Moody National Companies, the six-story, Class A building is positioned near Interstate 10 in the western section of Houston. The lease length is seven years and employees are scheduled to begin occupancy on Dec. 16.
The new office space will accommodate approximately 340 employees, including those previously based at WSP’s Travis Street and Park Row offices in Houston. This new space is rightsized for the firm’s hybrid work environment and allows for greater collaboration between different teams and business lines.
“It’s really about fostering important collaboration among all of our business lines to deliver technical excellence, creativity and unique solutions,” said James Caughorn, PE, senior vice president and senior area manager for Houston at WSP.
“Our clients are looking for professionals who can provide multiple services, especially when they’re pursuing complex projects that require everything from planning, funding, design, community outreach, engineering, implementation, reporting and so much more,” said Khristian House, LEED AP, senior vice president and Texas district business line leader for Property and Buildings at WSP. “This move fortifies our dedication to being back in the office, working together and supporting our clients in innovative and collaborative ways.
Employees at the new office have an on-site gym, as well as several restaurants, coffee shops and more within walking distance, including Memorial City Mall. The Goodman, a sizable, state-of-the-art event space that’s fit for regional conferences and other business meetings, is located on site.
“Our goal was to provide amenities to improve our employees’ in-office experience and help support a positive and productive workplace culture,” said Sarah Scopel, corporate real estate project manager at WSP. “We think this location has it all.”
WSP has partnered with clients and stakeholders on significant projects, including the Katy Freeway, the Galveston National Laboratory, Willis Tower and City of Houston Water Supply. WSP is providing design services for a new biosciences research facility being developed at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The firm is hiring engineers and professional staff in the Houston area and throughout Texas to work on high-profile projects. For a current list of career opportunities, visit https://www.wsp.com/en-us/careers/job-opportunities.
