After Hurricanes Irma and Maria struck, WSP successfully repaired and installed more than 2,000 generators and perform more than 2,000 installations at critical facilities throughout the islands. WSP mobilized all equipment and personnel within 21-24 hours of notice to proceed.
Our solutions to the many challenges presented by the hurricanes included the creation of Advance Echelon (ADVON) teams to execute local sourcing for critical equipment, saving the government valuable time and resources associated with transoceanic shipping; the introduction of 4x4 fueling assets to overcome rough terrain and service remote sites; and establishing a power field office with highly experienced staff to ensure efficient and sustained, long-term generator maintenance.
