WSP USA served as a strategic consultant to the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (OTPP), a private investor, for its $2.35 billion purchase of four container terminals in New York, New Jersey and British Columbia. The transaction was awarded the North American Acquisition Deal of the Year by Project Finance magazine.

Supporting Client Success Nationwide

We evaluated expansion opportunities, reviewed the condition of terminal assets, and supplied or commented on all key commercial inputs to the client’s valuation model, including capital and operating cost schedules, as well as expected demand and throughput capabilities. Working closely with OTPP and Global Container Terminals (GCT), our team developed a business case for the expansion and modernization project, evaluating various build-out and phasing scenarios based on projected throughput volumes. The evaluation also supported GCT in its lease negotiations with the regional port authority.
