NEW YORK — WSP USA, a leading engineering and professional services consultancy, was recently recognized with three awards from the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), including the J.W. Morris Sustaining Member Award for large companies.
The J.W. Morris Sustaining Member Award is presented annually to one private sector organization for continued, noteworthy contributions to SAME. Todd Semonite, president of Federal Programs, accepted the award on behalf of WSP.
“I am grateful that so many people at WSP across the U.S. are active members of SAME, many of whom volunteer for leadership roles in the organization,” Semonite said. “For me personally, as a retired Army officer, this award holds special and personal significance, and I am proud to work with so many here at WSP who share this commitment to the importance of protecting our national security through infrastructure development and innovation.”
In addition, Elaina Edwards, WSP strategic growth team vice president for the Southeast region, and co-chair of SAME’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) subcommittee, was recognized by SAME with the President’s Medal for her outstanding leadership and accomplishment in support of the SAME’s commitment to DEI.
Margaret Burcham, WSP Federal division senior vice president, U.S. Army portfolio director and SAME Rhein-Main Post vice president for industry-government engagement (IGE), helped the Rhein-Main Post in Wiesbaden, Germany earn the IGE Award for excellence and leadership in supporting the Society’s IGE Plan. Burcham is based in Washington, D.C.
Award recipients were recognized on May 13 at the conclusion of the recent SAME Joint Engineer & Training Conference Society Ball and Awards Gala in Aurora, Colorado.
