WSP supported the Thousand Islands Bridge Authority in the assessment, procurement and implementation of a new toll collection system for this international bridge crossing. This new toll collection system replaced a system that had been in place for more than 20 years. The project facilitated the introduction of new customer payment options, including E-ZPass and a sticker tag for local frequent users. These new payment methods have helped to speed up transaction processing times.
WSP provided toll technology and program management support for both the toll system replacement and toll plaza renovations for the U.S. and Canadian toll plazas, as well as traffic plans and structural and electrical design review. WSP also led the replacement of the toll collection system.
