To help Cap Haitien Port become a regionally competitive seaport that will meet demand for container and other cargo traffic over the next 20 years, WSP is working on behalf of USAID to provide procurement support, technical assistance, design and construction supervision, safety oversight and quality assurance for the port’s rehabilitation. In addition to construction management services, the WSP team in Haiti is also managing a stakeholders’ group consisting of the port owner, Autorité Portuaire Nationale as well as port operators, facility tenants, commercial users and the construction firms to coordinate activities on the port during demolition and construction, as commercial use is continuing throughout the rehabilitation effort.
