Challenge
South Carolina has 33 welcome centers, rest areas and truck parking facilities state-wide that need to be maintained for year-round use by residents and visitors, for special events, and along evacuation routes during emergencies.
Solution
WSP maintains South Carolina’s welcome centers, rest areas and truck parking facilities statewide. For over 14 years, WSP’s staff has performed all custodial-related responsibilities as well as facility maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and pest control services. In addition, WSP has helped SCDOT to become more cost efficient by identifying and implementing cost saving measures. One example is the replacement of outdated faucets with new models that work better at high volume and have readily available replacement parts.
WSP has received an “Exceptional” rating from SCDOT for over 10 years, along with many letters of thanks for accommodating and assisting visitors at the facilities through extended hours of operation, 365 days a year.
