Joseph (Joe) Sczurko is President of WSP in the U.S. He joined WSP in 2022 through the acquisition of the Environment & Infrastructure Business (E&I) of John Wood Group plc. Joe brings decades of invaluable leadership experience and a deep understanding of the industry and evolving client needs. He has a proven track record of building, leading, and fostering collaboration in diverse multi-sector and multi-service businesses. He has over 35 years of progressive experience and management responsibility in consulting and engineering services. He was serving as the CEO of Wood E&I when WSP announced its intention to acquire the business in 2022. In prior leadership roles, he served as Executive President for the global Wood Consulting business providing infrastructure, energy, environmental, mining and automation consulting services. In this role, he was responsible for implementing energy transition and sustainable infrastructure strategies across all consulting services. Previous to that, he served as President, Strategy and Development where he developed and led the company’s strategic emphasis in the energy transition and sustainable infrastructure globally across all of John Wood Group plc. Joe has been a licensed professional engineer since 1989. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, a Master of Science in civil and environmental engineering, as well as an MBA.

Chris Peters is Chief Operations Officer for WSP in the U.S. With 30 years of experience in the engineering industry, Chris has successfully served in a wide variety of management roles. He joined WSP in 2017 and most recently served as the President, West Region in the USA and was responsible for operations and growth of multiple business lines including transportation, property and buildings, water, energy and advisory services. He possesses extensive expertise and industry credibility, and a deep knowledge of the transportation sector. He is a registered professional engineer and a registered structural engineer and holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in civil engineering.

Andrew Esposito is Chief Financial Officer at WSP in the U.S., bringing valuable direction to our growth strategy. Andrew applies his almost two decades of diverse financial background in the industry to champion company-wide efforts and create shareholder value. Andrew is based out of the WSP Orange office in California.

Key achievements for Andrew include numerous business integrations, development of Operational Finance Training for a multi-billion dollar enterprise and successful reorganization of multiple finance organizations that enabled stronger financial business partnerships and delivery of key targets.

Andrew holds a bachelor of arts degree in Economics from the University of Connecticut.

Debbie Arendsen is Chief Human Resources Officer for WSP in the U.S. She is responsible for HR strategy, including talent acquisition, employee development, succession planning, compensation and benefits, and HR technology and operations. With a human resources career spanning 30 years, Debbie’s leadership guides and supports our people, while driving our business strategy through best practice solutions and expertise. Based out of Atlanta, Debbie has been with WSP for four years, and since day one, she has championed our people by fostering positive employee experiences.

Prior to joining the firm, Debbie was with Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), where she led the Americas HR transformation, including implementation of industry-leading Workday technology, redesigning business processes, and implementing a new HR target operating model. She was a member of the company’s HR Leadership Team and delivered HR strategy through partnership with business lines.

Earlier in her career, Debbie worked within the real estate investment management and construction management business lines of Lend Lease. As principal, she led teams of HR business partners to execute strategic objectives in support of business goals.

Debbie graduated Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, and she has a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Georgia.

Stephen Dale is Chief General Counsel of WSP in the U.S. He held the position of chief general counsel for seven years prior to assuming the role of president of the former Southeast Region and returned to the role of chief general counsel in 2023.

Stephen has more than 15 years of professional services law experience, including a dozen years with WSP. He joined the firm – then Parsons Brinckerhoff – in 2010 as the assistant general counsel for litigation, and four years later began his first run as general counsel. In this role he counselled project leadership on claim reduction and mitigation strategies and advised Human Resources on management issues. He previously led the company’s litigation group to manage all disputes within the Americas and major claims around the world, ranging from construction disputes to employment matters.

Prior to joining the WSP, Stephen was a partner at SmithPachterMcWhorter, PLC, in Vienna, Virginia, where he represented prime contractors and developed joint venture and teaming agreements for infrastructure and energy projects, as well as public/private partnerships.

Stephen graduated with a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a recognized expert in construction law, he has published numerous articles on the topic for leading journals. Stephen is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and has served on its Board of Governors—Construction Institute and Board of Directors—Committee on professional practice.

Alastair (Aly) MacGregor is the Property and Buildings Business Line Executive at WSP in the U.S. With nearly 25 years of experience, Aly came to WSP having held various leadership positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Most recently, he served as a senior vice president and an integral part of the global leadership team overseeing the technology and logistics market sector at an international infrastructure consulting firm. His success in driving continued growth and delivering high performance solutions for a variety of clients will greatly benefit our expanding Property and Buildings business and the organization as a whole. He has specialized in creating and developing multi-disciplinary teams with a common passion for supporting the design, operation and ownership of built environments that enhance occupant wellbeing and minimize environmental footprint. Aly brings varied expertise across digital innovation and transformation; sustainable, low carbon and high performance design; smart buildings; strategic portfolio of energy and decarbonization programs; and more key areas that will help us deliver on our key strategic ambitions. Aly holds a master’s of science in building services engineering management from Heriot-Watt University and bachelor’s of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Newcastle. He is a FitWel ambassador and a LEED AP.

Jerry Jannetti is the Transportation and Infrastructure Business Line Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, Jerry oversees the strategic direction, business performance, client management, and knowledge management of the U.S. transportation market, including highways, bridges, transit and rail, tunnels, and aviation, and ports and marine. He also oversees management of WSP’s construction management and water practices.

In his nearly 30 years with the firm, Jerry has held several leadership positions. Most recently, he served as East Region President, collaborating with U.S. and regional leadership to deliver on the strategic priorities for the region and advancing WSP’s goals of being a trusted partner to our clients and the employer of choice for current and prospective staff. Prior to that, Jerry served as New York District Leader responsible for partnering with various leaders across the business to achieve growth objectives and leading client care efforts to advance WSP’s position and brand in the market.

Before joining WSP, Jerry gained extensive experience serving 11 years at the Maryland Department of Transportation in the areas of transportation planning, highway design, survey, construction engineering and inspection and traffic engineering.

Sofia Berger is the Earth and Environment Business Line Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, she oversees the strategic direction, business performance, client management, and knowledge management of the multiple sectors that comprise WSP’s industry leading environmental consulting practice and leads cross-market collaboration with all of WSP’s other business lines.

Previously, Sofia served as Transportation and Infrastructure National Business Line Executive and, before that, as Deputy National Business Line Leader in the Advisory group, with a range of responsibilities from strategic planning, operational management, and complex project management.

Sofia was Deputy Business Development Leader for U.S. Transportation as well as Managing Director for the Latin American and the Caribbean Division at Louis Berger, an international consulting engineering organization, which was acquired by WSP in 2018.

As a third-generation engineer, Sofia has a unique background that informs her approach to leadership and delivering for clients. She has more than 20 years of infrastructure experience spanning project management of construction projects in the field and management consulting for private sector clients and governmental transportation agencies around the world.

Sofia holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and economics-operations research from Columbia University.

Michael (Mike) Case is the Power and Energy Business Line Executive at WSP in the U.S. The business line provides a wide offering of professional services in markets including conventional power plants, energy services, renewable power and underground storage.

Mike joined WSP in 2005 and has been a member of the business line’s leadership team since 2014. In his most recent role as Senior Vice President, National Markets Director/Power, Mike has leveraged his extensive experience with the business to support continued growth across all end markets and geographies. He has provided overall management of business and technical operations for power and thermal generation, transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and energy management, with responsibility for delivering high-profile projects and programs involving multiple engineering disciplines and cross-sector collaboration. His success in leading the power business during a time of exponential growth and expanded opportunity will be an immense asset to our team. Mike holds a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from Michigan State University. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in multiple states and is a LEED AP.

Jannet Walker-Ford is the Advisory and Planning Business Line Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, she is responsible for business performance, and integrating the firm’s technical expertise in planning, engineering, program/construction management and operations with the strategic problem-solving and communications needed by owners, developers and operators to assess, fund, and organize around successful delivery of infrastructure programs and projects across all business lines.

Previously, she served as National Transit and Rail Leader, responsible for leading and growing the firm’s business in national transit and rail markets including the national practices for transit and rail, freight delivery, passenger rail, systems, technical project delivery, bus rapid transit and zero emissions.

Jannet is a nationally recognized transportation industry executive, and a tireless advocate for equity in transportation and the power of public transit to transform communities. She has more than two decades of diverse expertise including management consulting, technology, mobility, and transportation systems.

Jannet is a graduate of the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and Central Michigan University with a Master of Business Administration degree. Recognized by WTS International with the inaugural Jannet Walker-Ford Breaking Barriers Award in 2024, Jannet has received numerous awards and serves on multiple national boards. She is the Immediate Past Chair of WTS International, the APTA Executive Committee, the Eno Center for Transportation and Jacksonville Board of Trustees. The broad range of recognition for her success and advocacy includes 2023 Railway Age Women in Rail, 2022 American Public Transportation Association’s Business Member of the Year, 2021 WTS Northeast Florida Woman of the Year, 2019 Transportation Diversity Council/Massachusetts Institute of Technology honoree for Services to the Transportation Industry, 2019 Women of Color STEM Technology All-Star Award, and a 2019 Conference of Minority Transportation Officials’ Women Who Move the Nation honoree.

Todd Semonite is the Federal Programs Executive at WSP in the U.S. Prior to joining WSP, Todd served for four years as the 54th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He advised the Secretary of the Army on matters such as general, combat and geospatial engineering; construction, real property, public infrastructure; and natural resources science and management. Todd oversaw 36,000 civilian employees, 800 military personnel, and managed a $68 billion project portfolio.

In 2020, Todd led the Army Corps of Engineers’ response to the coronavirus pandemic, constructing 38 alternate care facilities that created 15,000 beds for COVID-19 patients across the U.S. When COVID-19 infections first peaked in New York City last year, Semonite oversaw the build out of the temporary hospital at Javits Center.

Todd leads a multidisciplinary Federal Programs team that delivers dynamic engineering solutions for U.S. government agencies; developing and delivering timely, cost-effective projects that foster sustainable communities and protect national and natural resources. Federal Programs supports clients in facilities design, master planning, national security programs, logistics and emergency management, environmental services and overseas integrated development. Todd is based in the Washington, D.C. office.

Rick Cardentey is the Program Management Business Line Executive at WSP in the U.S.

Karen Doherty is the Mountain Pacific Region Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, she is responsible for steering the operations and growth of all WSP’s business lines in the region toward the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees and partners.

Previously, Karen served as Pacific Mountain West district leader, responsible for operational performance, strategic growth, sales and client relationships of multiple business lines including transportation, property and buildings, water, energy and advisory services.

Karen Doherty has more than 30 years of consulting engineering experience in the Pacific Northwest. She has been a member of many multidisciplinary teams on complex projects involving transportation, water, environmental, energy and building disciplines. She enjoys building collaborative, diverse, high-functioning teams to solve challenging infrastructure needs. A licensed civil engineer, Karen is a proud graduate of Gonzaga University in Spokane and is a native of Southeastern Washington.

Dr. Luis A. Porrello is the California Region Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, he is responsible for steering the operations and growth of all WSP’s business lines in the region toward the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees and partners.

During his tenure with WSP, Luis most recently served as California district leader, responsible for the firm’s business delivery performance and client engagement across the state. Prior to that, as West region development director, he oversaw a sales target of over $1 billion, worked with teams across the West region to pursue and win a portfolio of mega projects, and was a key contributor on several important national initiatives aimed at improved operational efficiencies and collaboration.

Luis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, a Master of Science degree in international project finance, and Master and Doctor of Science degrees in transportation and urban systems engineering.

John Trotta is the Midwest Region Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, he is responsible for steering the operations and growth of all WSP’s business lines in the region toward the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees and partners.

Additionally, John will continue to engage in a leadership role with WSP’s national Inclusion and Diversity Council, mentor/protégé programs and the Developing Professional Network. He also serves in a strategic advisory role focused on project teaming and key client accounts and will continue as a member of the government affairs team.

John joined the firm in 2006 as a regional business manager. Most recently, he served as Midwest district leader responsible for growth and oversight of operations across the district. Prior to joining WSP, he served in multiple leadership and development roles during his 22 years with the Chicago Transit Authority.

John is a graduate of Roosevelt University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was awarded the Italian American Executives of Transportation Man of the Year Award, and the Community Service Award from the Illinois chapter of the American Council of Engineering Companies. He earned the 2022 Excellence in Leadership Award from SOS Children’s Villages Illinois where he is currently a board member and fundraising chair for its Evening of Hope.

Claudia Bilotto is the Southeast Region Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, she is responsible for steering the operations and growth of all WSP’s business lines in the region toward the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees and partners.

Most recently, Claudia served as Southeast district leader, responsible for strategic business development, client service delivery and financial performance for the region. She focused on developing the firm’s expertise, relationships and technical capabilities to benefit new and existing clients with their projects.

She joined WSP in 2014 as an assistant vice president and planning and environment manager for the Atlanta office. In addition to business operations, strategy and growth, her 24 years of industry experience include managing a wide range of major transportation projects, and stakeholder and public participation programs.

Claudia received a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Penn State University and a master’s degree in city planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is registered with the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Rolando Amaya is the Mid-Atlantic Region Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, he is responsible for steering the operations and growth of all WSP’s business lines in the region toward the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees and partners.

Rolando began his WSP journey in 2009 with the Advisory team, where he supported clients with the commercial/financial/policy aspects of capital project and program delivery, organizational change management, alternative delivery and financial and strategic planning.

Most recently, he served as Mid-Atlantic district lead, managing business operations, driving coordinated growth initiatives, and leveraging WSP’s full suite of service offerings to meet client needs. Prior to that he assisted WSP’s executive leadership team with the execution of numerous strategic initiatives, while gaining a distinct understanding of WSP’s full suite of service offerings across all market sectors.

Rolando holds a Bachelor of Science in engineering from Princeton University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the New York University Stern School of Business.

Ian McNamara is the Northeast Region Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, he is responsible for steering the operations and growth of all WSP’s business lines in the region toward the objective of enabling WSP to be the preferred and trusted choice for clients, employees and partners.

Ian joined WSP as director of strategic initiatives in 2020 and then served as East region development director, where he was responsible for leading and supporting major pursuits across all business lines. Most recently, he served as Northeast district leader, responsible for operational performance, strategic growth, sales and client relationships of multiple business lines.

Beginning his career in the transportation sector in Ireland, Ian’s diverse career background includes project development, operations management, urban planning and mobility, as well as serving as investment director for infrastructure programs.

Ian graduated from University College Cork in Ireland with a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering, and a master’s degree in transportation engineering. He also completed studies in organizational design for digital transformation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Sarah Kuchera, PE, is the Executive for Strategic Planning at WSP in the U.S. Currently, Sarah is also the managing office director for the San Francisco office of WSP's Property & Buildings business line. She is a certified professional engineer in electrical engineering, specializing in project management and integrated project delivery. Sarah holds a Bachelor of Science in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. She previously served as a board member on the Industrial Advisory Board at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has published several industry leading articles in “Consulting-Specifying Engineer.”

Jennifer Gagnier is the Executive of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) at WSP in the U.S. She has over 30 years of comprehensive expertise across diverse industries. With a background spanning healthcare, aviation, water, civil infrastructure, and more, she brings a wealth of experience in HSE program management, design-build initiatives, and maintenance projects. Jennifer's previous tenure as an HSE senior director for a global engineering firm underscores her ability to provide strategic counsel and drive collaboration for enhanced HSEQ performance.

Armed with a bachelor's degree in occupational safety from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and membership in professional organizations like the American Society of Safety Professionals and Women in Safety Engineering, Jennifer is committed to ongoing professional development and industry best practices. In her new role, she is dedicated to fostering a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and quality assurance within WSP and its client partnerships. By leveraging her expertise to benchmark best practices and cultivate strong internal and external relationships, Jennifer aims to position WSP as a leader in HSEQ, ensuring the firm's continued commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

Kevin Reed is the Executive of Delivery Operations for WSP in the U.S. In his current role, he is responsible for promoting leadership, growth and profitable operations, and overseeing the staffing and quality delivery of all the high-profile projects in the U.S. He holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Washington State University. He is a board member and past president of the American Council of Engineering Companies, San Diego, and a past president of the Washington State University San Diego Alumni Association.

Stuart Sunshine is the Government Relations Executive at WSP in the U.S. In this role, he leads the firm’s U.S. government affairs team, which covers federal government affairs, state and local government affairs, and civic and community engagement programs across all markets and advisory services within the U.S. His team also supports positioning, pursuits and program and project delivery across those same markets.

Since joining WSP more than a decade ago, Stuart has held several management and leadership positions within the firm. In 2008, he served as the San Francisco area manager, and in 2012, he assumed the role of director of state and local government affairs for U.S. Transportation. As a senior member of WSP’s national management consulting and strategic business development practice, Stuart also provided WSP’s clients with advice and solutions on management, operations, policy, project development and delivery.

Prior to joining the firm, he served three San Francisco mayors in various leadership, operations and project management roles overseeing transportation and infrastructure. His roles included deputy chief of staff to the mayor, deputy executive director and acting executive director for San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, executive director of the department of parking and traffic and the director of airfield development at San Francisco International Airport.

Stuart is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication, and graduate of San Francisco State University with a master’s degree in political science.

Jenni Roseleip is the Executive of Marketing and Communications for WSP in the U.S. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the development and strategic execution of the marketing and communications strategy for the region, which includes brand building, strategic marketing, reputation management, external communication and media relations, traditional and digital channel management and internal communications. She also leads the U.S. marketing and communications team, comprising more than 30 professionals that deliver against the U.S. strategic marketing and communications plan.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Jenni joined WSP in 2010, bringing extensive expertise in sales, development, marketing and communications. She has a proven track record of developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies that align with company growth objectives. Her vision and hands-on leadership style have driven the successful launch of numerous initiatives designed to enhance client and employee experiences while positioning the business and its talent for sustained growth. Her ability to develop high-performing teams that support strategic priorities has been instrumental in advancing the marketing and communications function at WSP.

Therese Bridwell, Executive and lead of WSP’s Strategic Growth Team (SGT) in the U.S. She directs WSP’s sales and business development strategy and operations across the United States, positioning us as the preferred and trusted choice for our clients. Therese leads the more than 200 professionals of the SGT who win work, maintain our client focus, and build our reputation in both emerging and mature markets through client care, sales, business development and pursuit management activities.

Therese has 30 years of experience in the A/E/C industry, including 25 years building and managing dynamic and cohesive teams. In creating these teams, she supplements traditional roles with innovative positions and skillsets to further differentiate WSP’s client engagement strategies, capabilities and products from our competitors.

Therese pioneered the reorientation of WSP’s sales and development function into the SGT, prioritizing collaboration across business lines, client focus, consistency of services and investment in career growth. This industry-leading team has increased sales, retention, and quality across the U.S. business, and will continue to elevate its innovative services through collaboration with WSP leadership and technical teams and embrace of emerging technologies.

Jay Wratten is the Executive Digital Lead at WSP in the U.S., as well as the global smart places lead for WSP. Jay’s appointment is aligned with WSP’s global initiative to accelerate our shift to delivering digital-first solutions across our own and our client's businesses. In his Digital lead role, he is responsible for ensuring that WSP in the U.S. establishes a clear digital strategy supported by a robust digital leadership structure, demonstrates excellence in applying digital tools to project delivery, and continues to strengthen revenue and margin through our digital offerings. Additionally, Jay will ensure we are aligned globally to drive our digital strategy forward by sharing digital expertise and best practice between regions.

Jay joined WSP in December 2006, and has held a number of leadership roles during his nearly two decades with the company. Most recently, Jay served as a senior vice president and leader of our Property and Buildings Market Innovation and Advisory Services practice. His experience guiding and overseeing teams dedicated to leveraging emerging technologies to create advanced infrastructure perfectly positions him to support our ambitious Global Digital Strategy. Jay started his career with WSP in the San Francisco lighting design team and has contributed to a number of landmark sports projects such as Mercedes Benz Stadium and Allegiant Stadium. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in architectural engineering from the University of Kansas and project management professional (PMP) certification.
