Collection System Planning and Design

WSP is focused on applying global best practices locally. We provide the full range of assessment, planning, design and construction management for sanitary sewer system facilities, including outfalls, pipelines, pump stations, flow control facilities and other special structures. We have extensive experience in solving combined sewer overflow and sanitary sewer overflow problems includes separation of sewer and storm water collection systems, area-wide storage and transport remedies, and state-of-the-art gray and green infrastructure technologies.

Wastewater Tunnels

Large diameter wastewater tunnels help to solve sanitary sewer and combined sewer overflow (CSO) and storage challenges, while reducing surface and community impacts and offering long-term environmental and economic benefits. WSP has extensive experience designing major underground wastewater infrastructure across the U.S., in a wide range of challenging urban alignments, geological conditions and sensitive natural environments. We combine our water resources and geotechnical engineering expertise to design optimal solutions.

Reclamation and Reuse

Where conventional fresh water resources are unavailable, or in areas of prolonged drought where water is in short supply, desalination of brackish water and seawater, grey water recycling and reclaimed wastewater provide alternative or “new” water supply sources. WSP is involved in desalination and reclamation projects around the world and has a clear understanding of the environmental issues that surround these projects. We help clients navigate the maze of regulatory compliance to develop these new sources to enhance water security.
