With more than 50 years of experience, WSP’s Integrated Development practice helps overseas economies thrive by implementing some of the largest governance, economic growth and resilient infrastructure programs in transitional economies. Our teams have trained 250,000 people, created 800,000 jobs, completed 1,760 infrastructure projects, facilitated $1 billion in investments and disbursed more than $1.5 billion in micro- and small-business loans in developing countries.

For the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), we have managed more than 75 major efforts in 30 countries. Key to our implementation effectiveness, is forging dynamic local partnerships to make sure program activities are jointly designed, implemented and measured with local actors.

WSP engages governments, civil society and the private sector to jointly identify problems and prioritize initiatives to strengthen government planning, budgeting, procurement and service delivery. To deepen democratic accountability, WSP supports governments in building robust mechanisms for citizen participation and oversight while also strengthening the capacity of citizens for constructive engagement.

WSP adopts a system-based approach to economic development and climate resilience, collaborating with governments, the private sector, donors and diverse capital providers to empower local stakeholders, engage diverse communities and drive transformative economic change. We leverage our relationships with all stakeholders to generate market-led policy reforms, enhance SME businesses and digital financial services, facilitate green investments, leverage the knowledge of local and indigenous communities, mainstream gender and equity principles, and maximize the impact of non-donor funding.

WSP works at the nexus of private investment and climate change, pioneering the fields of blended finance, climate finance and resilience finance. The team is composed of bankers, private equity and development finance practitioners. WSP advises public and private investors as well as governments and policymakers on how to accelerate climate-resilient investments, integrate climate considerations, and how to effectively translate climate finance policy into practical action to deliver results.
