WSP Italy was commissioned by the Renantis-BlueFloat Energy partnership to prepare the project package for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) application with the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security (MASE) and the Ministry of Culture (MIC).

The remediation and redevelopment of this site included the management of a myriad of issues including threatened flora and fauna, major soil and groundwater contamination, mining leases and mine subsidence and industrial archaeology.

Bats are an integral part of our ecosystems, and some bat species in Canada are currently listed as endangered due to population declines. In order to receive provincial or federal environmental authorizations, surveys to assess impacts on Species at Risk are critical for many projects. Compensation measures for bats may also be required and solutions to enhance or protect bat habitats can be integrated into restoration or mine reclamation sites.

Reducing the carbon footprint while creating new economic opportunities

WSP is advising on a project initiated by its client DSV, a global transport and logistics company. The goal is to establish a new, modern, future-proof and sustainable logistics centre with a view to creating green savings and increasing efficiency.

The project has a strong focus on sustainability and will be built on a 761,000 m² site in the village of Lund near Horsens. The new building will be certified DGNB Gold, while the logistics facilities will be certified DGNB Silver.

As part of Innovate Energy, a private-partner consortium, WSP is designing, building and converting the existing high-temperature steam system powering Canada’s National Capital Region to a more energy-efficient, low-temperature hot water system to reduce the nation’s greenhouse gas emissions.

The expansion of San Carlos de Apoquindo stadium in Santiago is finally under construction – thanks to a retrofit that will reduce its environmental impact, even as it triples in size 

Robertson Barracks is one of the Australian Army’s major bases in the Northern Territory and also the largest base in the Darwin region. WSP designed several new living-in accommodation (LIA) facilities and a Combined Mess building using ESD principles to maximize Future Ready opportunities for government assets.
