ORLANDO, FLORIDA — Melynne Chiariello, PE, joins WSP, one of the world’s leading professional services firms, combining its engineering, advisory and science-based expertise to shape communities, as a senior vice president and national maritime cruise leader.
Based in Orlando, Chiariello oversees marine, port and coastal engineering projects and programs for WSP in the U.S. WSP ranked No.1 in marine and port facilities by Engineering News-Record’s 2024 Global Sourcebook of top international design firms.
She guides WSP’s maritime specialists in compliance with regulatory requirements and provides strategic direction to drive innovation and address both current and future challenges for our maritime clients in the cruise industry.

Chiariello has 24 years of ocean structural engineering experience, specializing in design and planning of ports and piers. She has performed siting and vetting studies for international cruise line clients.
She was project manager and design engineer for Carnival Corporation’s Half Moon Cay Cruise Pier in the Bahamas, project manager for Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay pier and upland development and the owner’s representative for the redevelopment of the Grand Bahama Shipyard.
Chiariello was most recently senior project manager and Florida and Puerto Rico ports group leader for a global professional services firm where she served as a designer for cruise line development and redevelopment projects.
Chiariello graduated from the Florida State University with a bachelor’s degree and MBA in accounting and management and earned a master’s degree in ocean structural engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
